AAAAI’s membership consists of over 6,800 professionals in the United States, Canada, and 72 other countries.
As members of AAAAI, our allergy & asthma specialists, Dr. Nkiruka Erekosima and Dr. D’Jahna Thomas are keenly aware of the benefits to our patient community that come from having access to the organization’s resources. Here are just a few:
AAAAI Key Resources and Initiatives
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI) – Published monthly for the benefit of medical professionals, clinical professionals and the scientific community, JACI is the most-cited scientific journal in the field of allergy and clinical immunology.
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice – Is a bi-monthly journal devoted to presenting clinically-focused research, as well as “practical management recommendations” in allergy / immunology.
The AAAAI Foundation – Formerly known as ARTrust ™, this endowment supports the development of treatments and cures for allergic and immunologic conditions through financial support for asthma & allergy education, research and faculty development. AAAAI members are able to donate – through this foundation – to support those objectives.
Advocacy Programs
The AAAAI (referred to colloquially as “Quad AI”), also plays a very important role in advocating for or against regulations depending on its determination of how they will affect patient care outcomes. For instance, in early January 2016, AAAAI came out against newly proposed regulations from the USP that most allergists believe will severely limit allergy patient access to allergy shots – a long-proven intervention that helps those who suffer with severe allergies.
